Chennai: Three people died in two separate road accidents at Cholavaram and Kundrathur areas in the city on Tuesday night.
In the first accident near Cholavaram, Lokesh , 24, a car driver from Erumaivettipalayam, was riding a motorcycle with his relative Lokeshwari, 17, a nursing student, towards Tambaram on the Minjur-Vandalur bypass road. In another accident, Gunasekaran, 50, a tailor from Kundrathur, was returning home on the Kundrathur-Nellikuppam Road after closing shop, when a truck hit his motorcycle head on. The motorcycle developed a problem near Medur roundabout, when a car hit it from behind. Both fell and sustained injuries. Lokeshwari died at Padiyanallur Government Primary Health Centre, while Lokesh was taken to Government Stanley Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Police are searching for the car driver, who fled the scene. He fell and was run over by the truck, dying at the spot.
