A vehicle carrying approximately two hundred goats caught fire after striking an electric pole.
MAHABUBNAGAR: A driver and around 200 goats were charred to death after a vehicle carrying the animals caught fire following a collision with an electric pole in Mahabubnagar district early Thursday, officials said. The incident took place around 4 am near Bhoothur village on National Highway-44. The DCM was carrying around 150-200 goats when it hit an electric pole, according to a fire official.

The driver died at the spot, while the goats trapped inside the vehicle were burnt alive, the official said. Officials said the exact extent of the loss was being assessed. The vehicle’s diesel tank reportedly burst after the collision, with sparks triggering a fire. Fire tenders reached the spot and brought the blaze under control.
