Udupi: With Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations approaching, Udupi district police and the district administration held a preparatory meeting with members of Ganeshotsava committees at the Udupi Town Hall on Thursday, urging them to ensure that the festivities are conducted in a peaceful, orderly and lawful manner.

The meeting, jointly organised by the police department and district administration, focused on maintaining public peace, law and order and security during the celebrations. The committee members were advised to strictly follow govt and police guidelines concerning installation of Ganesha idols, processions, use of loudspeakers, traffic management, parking, fire safety and eco-friendly celebrations. Members of various Ganeshotsava committees from across the district attended the meeting. Udupi SP Hariram Shankar, IPS, additional Abid Gadyal, additional SP Sudhakar S Nayak and ASP Karkala Subdivision, Ishita Gupta, were present. Download the TOI App.
