The Venezuelan migrant who shot 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman dead when she was on her night stroll to see northern lights has been identified as Jose Medina-Medina. The name of the 25-year-old suspect was not earlier released as he was not charged yet.
The DHS announced Sunday that the ICE has lodged an arrest detainer asking “sanctuary politicians” to not release Jose Medina-Medina, a Venezuelan criminal illegal alien arrested for killing 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman in Chicago, Illinois.
“Sheridan was everyone’s cheerleader in every sense of the word. She had a way of making people feel seen, valued, and believed in,” her family wrote in an online obituary for the teenager. “She radiated something even greater—a rare and unmistakable warmth, a spirit that was vibrant, compassionate, and full of life. She was funny, kind, and deeply loving, with a heart that made space for everyone,” the obituary added.
