The two had been in a relationship before her marriage, according to police. When repeated efforts to trace her failed, her husband approached Malihabad police and lodged a missing report. Her arrival triggered a tense confrontation as members of both her parental and marital families gathered at the police station.
The incident came to light after the woman, who got married to the PRD jawan in May last year, allegedly left her in-laws’ house a few days ago without informing her family. The case took an unexpected turn on Wednesday when the woman arrived at Malihabad police station along with her lover.
