Hyderabad: Telangana Employees Joint Action Committee (TGEJAC) urged chief minister A Revanth Reddy to get the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) report at the earliest and announce the second PRC with 51% fitment before Dasara .
They requested the immediate release of at least three of the six pending Dearness Allowance (DA) installments and sought the speedy clearance of pending employee and pensioner bills exceeding ₹10,000 crore. They asked present monthly release of around ₹1,000 crore be increased to ₹2,000 crore per month, with ₹1,000 crore earmarked for employees and ₹1,000 crore for pensioners. The TGEJAC urged the govt to constitute a committee to examine the demand for scrapping the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) and restoring the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), and to take a decision at the earliest and effective implementation of the New Employees Health Scheme (NEHS) so that employees and pensioners receive adequate and accessible healthcare benefits.
They also asked the CM to take immediate steps to resolve the long-pending issues of govt employees, gazetted officers, teachers, workers and pensioners. A delegation of TGEJAC chairman Maram Jagadishwar and secretary general Eluri Srinivasa Rao along with other members met the CM in the assembly on Thursday and submitted a representation.
The CM stated that the govt had released about ₹10,000 crore since Jan and that he was making every effort to address the problems faced by employees and pensioners. Revanth Reddy responded positively to the demands and said that the govt had already written to the PRC commission requesting submission of its report. He assured the representatives that, after receiving the report, the govt would examine its recommendations and hold consultations with employee representatives before taking a final decision on the PRC and DA issues. He assured the delegation that, after assembly sessions, he would convene a meeting with the finance department to review the financial position of the state and take appropriate measures to address employees’ issues.
