NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old man died after being stabbed 17 times following an altercation with two men near a school in east Delhi ’s Mandawali Thursday, police said. Preliminary investigation suggests that one of the accused suspected the victim was having an affair with his married sister.
Police arrived after a PCR call regarding the incident at 7.54 pm. A post-mortem report said 17 stab injuries were on his body. Police said the victim had an altercation with the accused (22, from Karawal Nagar) and his accomplice shortly before the attack.
They allegedly chased the victim and repeatedly stabbed him with near the school before fleeing, according to police. The victim, a resident of Mandawali, was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. A case of murder was registered, and one accused was arrested. Police have identified the second accused and are on the lookout for him. They are also verifying his suspected motive and role in the attack. The knife allegedly used in the crime has been seized. The motorcycle allegedly used by the two men is also in police custody.
