Oakland Unified School District’s Prescott Elementary is full of incredible Oakland history, including being the oldest continuously running public school in Oakland and home to Oakland’s first African American teacher, Dr. Ida Louise Jackson. The post added, “What a great location for our 25th schoolyard build! For the unversed, the charity was initially set up close to a decade ago, to provide quality education and nutritious meals to children coming from underprivileged backgrounds in Oakland to give them opportunities to be successful in their lives. The charity began with Stephen Curry and his wife, Ayesha Curry, pouring in funds from their personal accounts to be there for the children of Oakland. Learn & Play, has raised millions and has even worked alongside billionaire Warren Buffet to change countless lives in Oakland. Learn & Play initially began to provide education and meals to children, it has since provided innumerable opportunities for children to participate in sports and take it up professionally While Eat.
