In 1993, Ottman joined World Championship Wrestling as The Shockmaster. Giving his health updates he said, “Unfortunately, everybody, due to things beyond my control, I was put into the hospital here. Because of his hospital stay, he cancelled the appearance.
The duo became one of the most recognised tag teams of that era and won the WWF Tag Team Championship. During his planned debut, he famously fell through a set of breakaway wall panels and lost his helmet. Ottman later changed his character and became Typhoon. He teamed up with Earthquake to form The Natural Disasters. His career also included one of professional wrestling’s most famous moments. The incident happened live on television, and his fellow wrestlers struggled to stay in character. This evening I got admitted after I was taken to the emergency room. But I will not be able to be there, guys. I want to apologize, and I’ll get together with the promoters that was bringing me in after I see what’s going on here with the doctors. But I love you all. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers, and hopefully I’ll be seeing you soon. Bye. Ottman had been scheduled to meet fans at the SWFL Super Card Show in Fort Myers, Florida.
