A constable was arrested in Kanpur for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend with a brick and a belt. The incident occurred late Saturday on a road in the Mangal Vihar area, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Chakeri police station. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the assault.

Chakeri SHO Ajay Prakash Mishra said the accused was being questioned. Chakeri police reached the spot after receiving information and seized the constable’s car. He added that further legal action would be taken after police received the victim’s complaint. Download the TOI App.
