New Delhi: The service on a small stretch between Rajiv Chowk and Patel Chowk metro stations on Yellow Line was impacted for over four hours by a signalling issue Monday, causing inconvenience to commuters. As the Metro ran at a restricted speed, commuters claimed that there was a cascading effect on other sections of the line.
DMRC at 2.42 pm said normal services resumed on the line. A commuter said his 20-minute ride turned into an hour-long journey. In March, train services on the new 9.9-km Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park stretch on Magenta Line were impacted after 1,000 metres of signalling cables were stolen before the start of service.

Sanjay Singh, a commuter who boarded the metro from Hauz Khas to Central Secretariat, said the train was moving slower than usual. Another commuter, Rashmi, said, “My half-day salary has already been deducted. Several commuters took to social media to complain about the delay. Now who’s gonna pay for that?
