Kanpur: Police arrested three men accused of posing as chartered accountants and fraudulently securing an Rs 80 lakh loan in an auto driver’s name after creating a bogus firm and forging his deceased mother’s signatures. A manager of the Indian Bank allegedly involved in the case absconded before police could detain him. He alleged that the accused assaulted and threatened him after he questioned them about the loan.
The arrests followed a complaint lodged on Monday by Shivam Shukla, an auto driver from Vinayakpur Panchvati, with Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal.
Police Pursue Fugitive Following Transfer
The Police Commissioner has instructed law enforcement to file a case and apprehend the suspect, Kumar Pawan. DCP (West) SM Qasim Abidi has been assigned to carry out raids in connection with this matter. During the investigation, it was discovered that Pawan had recently been transferred to the Govind Nagar branch of Indian Bank. In response, DCP (South) Dipendra Nath Chaudhary was tasked with detaining him. However, Pawan managed to evade capture before the Govind Nagar police could arrive.
