Listing a series of areas where, according to him, govt failed to meet farmers’ need, Akhilesh

Lucknow: The 2027 Assembly polls will decide the future of Uttar Pradesh farmers who have been waiting for the past 10 years for BJP govt to fulfil its promise of doubling their income, said SP chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday.

Listing a series of areas where, according to him, govt failed to meet farmers’ need, Akhilesh said BJP’s basic character was anti-farmer.

The former CM said after the SP is voted to form govt in 2027 assembly elections, sugarcane farmers will be paid with 24 hours of their produce being purchased. Lucknow: SP state president Shyam Lal Pal on Monday submitted a memorandum with the state’s Chief Electoral Officer seeking investigation into more than 3,000 duplicate voters across 458 polling stations in the Etawah Assembly Constituency. In the memorandum, the party sought deletion of duplicate and fake voters’ names to ensure that the 2027 Assembly General Election is conducted in a free, fair, and transparent manner.

Interacting with farmers from the heads of different khaps of western UP in Lucknow, Akhilesh said BJP govt has only duped the farmer community by making promises it has failed to fulfil. Farmers who neither got seeds nor fertilizers timely under BJP govt where corruption in the form of profiteering and commissions is at its peak,” Akhilesh said. BJP’s basic character is anti-farmer,” Akhilesh said, adding that the farmer community was always neglected by BJP govts. Farmers will not have to wait for days and weeks for fertilizers he said adding that farmers should also get benefit of ethanol.

“This election is about farmers’ future. SP national secretary Rajendra Chaudhary and party state president Shyam Lal Pal was also present at the meeting. “When the farmers need fertilizers, they are made to stand in long queues for days where they are cane-charged unprovoked. Middlemen are dominating the markets and farmers are not getting the right price for their produce. Proper arrangements will be in place for fertilizers, seeds and irrigation.

The farmers listed their complaints and grievances against BJP govt before the SP chief and assured him of full support in the elections.
