Bijnor : A 25-year-old hotel worker was allegedly murdered, his body doused with petrol and set on fire before being dumped in a sugarcane field in Hasanpur area of Amroha district on Sunday, while police said the assailants also burnt a motorcycle nearby in an apparent attempt to destroy evidence and conceal their identity.
Police identified the victim as Mukesh , a resident of Sateda Chak Ki Mandayya, whose charred body was found in a field in Deepur village, around 500 metres from a link road. Police registered an FIR for murder against Sukhveer and an unidentified accused and launched a search for them, while investigators examined the recovered phone and other material from the scene to establish the sequence of events and motive.
Amroha SP Lakhan Singh Yadav said, “We identified the victim after tracing the motorcycle’s registration number. Three women who had gone to the field noticed bloodstains on the pathway and alerted villagers, following which police recovered a burnt motorcycle near a tubewell along with a mobile phone, an empty liquor packet and three plastic glasses. A dog squad and forensic team examined the scene, while police traced the motorcycle’s registration details to establish the victim’s identity.
Investigation Underway Following Mukesh’s Death Linked to Monetary Dispute
Mukesh, an employee at a hotel in Garhmukteshwar, Hapur district, was reportedly called to his home on Saturday evening by village resident Sukhveer Singh and an unidentified accomplice. His family believes that his death is connected to an ongoing monetary dispute involving these individuals. Mukesh’s father, Sukhram, has publicly alleged this connection, prompting local authorities to investigate the circumstances surrounding his son’s death.
