Neha Bora, the national president of the All India Students’ Association (AISA), has accused the government of neglecting its responsibilities regarding key educational issues. On Monday in Gorakhpur, she highlighted concerns about the privatization of education, frequent paper leaks, rising unemployment, and the erosion of students’ rights. Bora’s statements reflect growing frustration among students over the government’s handling of these critical matters.
Bora said that student and youth movements across the country reflected growing dissatisfaction with the existing education and employment systems. Referring to the protests in Uttar Pradesh , she said students were raising concerns over scholarships, inadequate hostel facilities, lack of women’s hostels and budget cuts affecting infrastructure in public universities. She was addressing a students’ gathering during GEN Mahajutan Yatra (GEN-Z rising) in Gorakhpur. She also highlighted the demands of competitive examination aspirants and alleged delays in teacher recruitment.

Terming the yatra as a campaign to strengthen student and youth struggles, Bora said it began in Prayagraj before passing through Varanasi and Azamgarh and reaching Gorakhpur. The next leg of the journey will cover Faizabad and Lucknow. Download the TOI App.
