Civic officials said that elaborate arrangements were in place in the jurisdictions of all 15 civic wards on Tuesday and some 2,400 idols were immersed at various locations. Around 570 idols were donated and around 3,200 kg of nirmalya was collected at the centres set up at the immersion ghats, officials said.

Safety Measures in Place for Upcoming Immersion Days
Officials have confirmed that safety measures, including lighting and safety ropes, will remain in place at the immersion ghats along the Mula and Mutha rivers throughout the festival. The next scheduled immersions will occur on the fifth, seventh, and final days of the event. The state irrigation department has urged the public to refrain from immersing idols and disposing of nirmalya, or ritual offerings, in the city’s irrigation canals.
