Mohammed Hussain’s family is seeking government assistance to bring his remains back to India.
A 27-year-old man from Hyderabad’s Santoshnagar died in Massachusetts in the United States on Monday, September 14, with his family seeking government assistance to bring his remains back to India. Hussain spoke to his mother at around 8 am on Monday and appeared to be fine, according to media reports. Following his death, Hussain’s parents approached Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan for assistance. Khan has appealed to External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to intervene and ask the Indian Embassy in the US or the Consulate General of India in New York to coordinate with US authorities for the repatriation of Hussain’s remains. Hours later, his wife informed the family that he had died while sleeping. The family has sought government assistance, saying they belong to an economically weaker section and may face difficulties arranging the repatriation of Hussain’s remains to Hyderabad.
