New Delhi: A 28-year-old govt school teacher and two associates have been arrested for allegedly plotting to kill his wife and orchestrating a shooting at their residence in Baprola, west Delhi , police said.
Police identified the accused as Sandeep Kumar (28), a resident of Baprola Vihar and husband of the victim, Mitthu alias Deepak (26) of Najafgarh, and Akash (26) of Nand Nagri. After spending nearly 45 minutes inside, Akash allegedly opened fire at the woman while she was on the staircase. A case was registered at Ranhola police station under Sections 109(1) (attempt to murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, along with provisions of the Arms Act. Sandeep allegedly paid them Rs 1 lakh in advance, with the remaining amount to be paid later.
Their interrogation allegedly revealed that the shooting had been carried out at Sandeep’s behest, following which he was arrested.
Sandeep allegedly plotted the attack following prolonged marital disputes, according to investigators. Police said Deepak and Akash entered the woman’s house in Nangli Dairy on the pretext of collecting or repairing a printer. Police said multiple rounds were fired and three bullets struck the victim before the two accused fled. Police said Deepak and Akash had agreed to carry out the attack in return for money. Police said marital discord had existed between the couple for several years.
During the investigation, police arrested Deepak and Akash.
