New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday arrested three persons, including a Senior Secretariat Assistant of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), while allegedly transacting a bribe of Rs15 lakh in New Delhi.

The arrests followed the registration of a case by the CBI on September 16 against an MCD inspector and others over allegations of corruption in connection with the installation and display of billboards, hoardings and LED displays in the national capital.

The accused were allegedly involved in obtaining bribes for permitting the installation or display of billboards, hoardings and LED displays even after the expiry of the tender period, according to the agency. They were also allegedly allowing the installation or display of additional billboards beyond the sanctioned number in exchange for substantial illegal gratification.
