Kalaburagi: A minor girl died by suicide at her home after a soldier, whom she had accused of sexually exploiting her, refused to marry her when she became pregnant.
In a suicide note, the girl has held Praveen Hunsagi and his friend Gangadhar Jamadar responsible for her death. Police arrested Jamadar and produced him before a court. Having written to Hunsagi’s superiors, police are preparing to arrest him.
A case was registered at Afzalpur police station on Tuesday.

The girl and Hunsagi belonged to the same village. Hunsagi, a soldier stationed at the country’s border, was allegedly in a relationship with her, and sexually exploited her when he visited the village on leave. Jamadar allegedly assisted him. When asked to marry the girl after she became pregnant, Hunsagi allegedly refused to oblige. After she threatened to die by suicide, he allegedly replied: “Do whatever you want. I will not marry you.
