Actor Darshan
Meanwhile, Darshan’s counsel told the court that Pradosh was accused of calling his wife by using another prisoner’s ID. However, Pradosh, appearing through videoconference facility, told the court he was unaware of the ID used. Special public prosecutor Prasanna P Kumar contended: “The mother of the victim giving conflicting answers in her cross-examination and one witness whose statement was recorded by the magistrate also has not fully supported the case of the prosecution; the evidence of approver is necessary to secure the ends of justice. Prison officials allow inmates to call family members or advocates through specific IDs. “I had called my wife using an ID provided by the prison officials. Now, the officials are not allowing me to come out of the barrack,” Pradosh stated.
One of the prime suspects, Darshan, had earlier challenged the order before the Karnataka high court, which partially allowed the petition and remitted the matter back to the trial court to pass a fresh order on the pardon application.
Bengaluru: The city civil and sessions court Wednesday allowed an application filed by co-accused Pradosh S Rao seeking tender of pardon to turn approver in the Renukaswamy murder case.
