Hyderabad: After a 31-year-old man, Mohammed Nayeem, was chased and hacked to death at a permit room in a wine shop in Badlaguda on Monday night, Nagole police on Wednesday arrested eight persons. Four others are still at large.

In 2024, the three were involved in separate real estate-related offences. Before that, the trio met at a real estate event in Somajiguda in 2024.

Nayeem and two of the accused, Rabbani and Mahesh, were close friends, according to the police. Later, they formed a gang and committed three offences, following which they were remanded in the above cases,” Malkajgiri police commissioner B Sumathi said. Police said the three accused decided to eliminate Nayeem and enlisted the help of a few others whom they had met in prison.

“Nayeem, Rabbani and Mahesh had been involved in criminal cases registered at Uppal, Vanasthalipuram and Hayathnagar police stations. However, a recent rivalry developed between Nayeem and Rabbani, Mahesh and Dinakar. Police recovered knives and a car from the accused.

On Monday night, when Nayeem was at a permit room in a wine shop, the accused chased him and hacked him to death.
