Following chief minister Suvendu Adhikari’s explicit prohibition on DJ systems, police personnel are enforcing this mandate with heightened vigilance alongside standard crowd management protocols. The meetings were attended by senior police officers, including Jyotirmoy Roy, DCP (New Town), Laltu Halder, ADCP, Bidhannagar, Utsha Sreemani, ACP, New Town, and Subhankar Biswas, ACP, North Zone, Bidhannagar, along with representatives from the traffic wing, HIDCO, NKDA, WBSEDCL, fire & emergency services and Durga Puja committees. Discussions focused on public safety, traffic and crowd management, fire safety, electricity supply, puja guidelines and essential civic arrangements, with the collective objective of ensuring a safe, peaceful, smooth and hassle-free Durga Puja celebration across the area,” police posted on social media.
