Nishad Party chief Sanjay Nishad says he is not looking for possibilities outside BJP
Speaking exclusively to TOI, Nishad said, “Only BJP can make it happen. “When two big leaders meet, it is set to make waves,” Nishad said, playing down the political significance of the meeting while ruling out an alliance with SP. He has also warned BJP against underestimating allies’ contributions, and after Pravin Nishad’s defeat in Sant Kabir Nagar in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, he blamed “people within BJP” for the loss. “There are people within BJP who do not want Nishad to get SC status because they think it will make Sanjay Nishad the Kanshi Ram of Nishad,” he said. Nishad claimed BJP has paid an electoral cost when it “ignored” his community’s concerns, but added that the party has taken “positive steps” and must continue discussions.
