Making the island slightly smaller could create space for an additional lane and help clear traffic more quickly at the intersection, according to the suggestion. One commuter suggested reducing the size of the traffic island on the road from Polytechnic Chauraha towards Lekhraj, which currently restricts movement to a single lane. Traffic officials are examining the proposal on the ground to assess its feasibility and likely impact on traffic flow. DCP Traffic Raveena Tyagi, along with her team, has conducted spot inspections at locations flagged by citizens. Citizens can report problematic junctions, unsafe U-turns, pedestrian crossings, school-zone congestion, parking bottlenecks and other recurring issues through a bilingual Google Form. The traffic police has asked residents to provide the exact location, latitude and longitude, photographs and details of when and how the problem occurs.
