Records uploaded on the state’s online student portal showed 494 students enrolled in the school, according to the complaint. However, an inspection committee found only 64 students physically present.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar : Police have booked a case against the management and headmaster of a private school in Chikalthana for allegedly inflating student enrolment by uploading Aadhaar details of non-students to retain teaching posts and secure govt grants. The case relates to Khwaja Urdu Primary School in Pushpak Garden and follows a complaint filed by Sachin Shinde on behalf of govt. The huge gap between the official enrolment figure and the actual student strength triggered suspicion and led to an inquiry. Investigators found that Aadhaar cards belonging to third persons or children not studying in the school may have been uploaded on the portal. Police suspect the school used these documents to show higher enrolment, retain sanctioned posts and qualify for govt grants. Police are now scrutinising student records, Aadhaar details and documents submitted by the school. They are also examining whether the alleged bogus enrolment helped the management secure financial benefits and, if so, the amount involved.
