Hyderabad: Technology is helping people find free meals during the Ganesh festival, with a website listing annadhanam or free meal distribution points at Ganesh pandals across Hyderabad and parts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh . Some posts also carry organisers’ phone numbers. Users can search by location or day to find pandals serving free meals near them on a specific date. “I got to know about this site through a friend. “I am checking pandals on my way home from the office. Most of the posts are genuine,” he added. The site is open to all, with users able to post annadhanam details by logging in with their email ID. They can also report a post or indicate their interest in attending a free meal distribution. “Every Ganesh festival, we create a WhatsApp group with friends to keep track of annadhanam programmes in the city.
