Father of Disha Salian Files Defamation Notice Against Politicians
Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar/Mumbai: Satish Salian, the father of the late celebrity manager Disha Salian, has taken legal action against Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray and former state home minister Anil Deshmukh. On Thursday, Salian issued a defamation notice demanding Rs 500 crore in compensation. He claims that Thackeray’s assertion, which labeled Salian’s request for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into his daughter’s death as politically motivated, is false and defamatory.
Salian’s lawyer has formally requested protection from the Mumbai police commissioner, citing concerns over the allegations made against him. Salian describes Thackeray’s comments as baseless and made without credible evidence, suggesting they were intended to serve ulterior motives.
Shiv Sena (UBT) president Uddhav Thackeray , meanwhile, said he would pursue legal remedies if allegations linking his family to the 2020 case continued to be used for “character assassination” by certain politicians. Aaditya has also said so. Such character assassination can happen to you people too,” he said.
“We have no connection with this case. This is not an issue concerning me alone. “My family has been facing such allegations for years. I would take legal action if the campaign does not stop. ”
