Kolkata: The city police’s cyber cell has uncovered a cyber fraud network that allegedly stole Rs 32 lakh from victims across India using stolen identity documents, KYC records, and compromised bank details.
Cops said the accused used fake email addresses, forged digital documents, and mule bank accounts to impersonate genuine account holders to carry out unauthorised transactions.

A case has been registered under the IT Act for identity theft , cheating by impersonation, and damage to computer systems. Charges have also been added for criminal conspiracy, cheating, impersonation, forgery, using forged documents as genuine, and criminal breach of trust.
