A govt spokesperson said 8,323 people donated blood at 354 camps held across the state

Lucknow: Programmes were organised across Uttar Pradesh on Sept 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s 76th birthday under “Sewa Diwas,” with the govt, BJP and various organisations holding events in multiple districts. Blood donation camps were conducted, tool kits were distributed to beneficiaries under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, and fruits were given to patients in hospitals.

A govt spokesperson said 8,323 people donated blood at 354 camps held across the state. Under the Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana, tool kits were distributed to 12,271 beneficiaries. Fruits were distributed to 73,959 patients admitted in hospitals across districts. As part of the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ initiative, 5.90 crore diyas were lit across the state, including more than 20 lakh in districts such as Lucknow and Sitapur.

The spokesperson said the programmes were organised by the departments of Medical, Health and Family Welfare, and MSME.
