In the last four days, I have sold nearly 550 traditional steamed modaks made of rice flour, jaggery, pure ghee and coconut. Milk-based cream, mango-saffron modak is being sold at Rs130 to Rs50 per 11 pieces, dark and white modak at Rs110 to Rs110 per 11 pieces, dry fruit modak at Rs150 to Rs110 per 11 pieces, paan, gulkand modak at Rs140 to Rs150 per 11 pieces, triple layer modak at Rs 110 per 11 pieces, and there are prices according to everyone’s taste. Modak prices have increased by around 15% to 20% this year due to an increase in the cost of raw materials.
