Joe Burrow has suddenly become the center of attention ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals’ Week 2 showdown with the Houston Texans. Because of a back issue, creating fresh uncertainty around his availability just days after Burrow made it clear that he expected to take the field, the Bengals have listed their star quarterback as questionable for Sunday’s game.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Despite the concern surrounding his back, Burrow has maintained that he plans to play against the Texans. The Bengals quarterback reportedly remained confident about taking the field, even as the team continued to manage his workload during practice. That makes Cincinnati’s decision to officially list him as questionable particularly notable. A questionable designation does not necessarily mean Burrow will miss Sunday’s game, but it does mean his status has not been officially cleared. The Bengals will now have to monitor the quarterback closely heading into kickoff. However, the official injury designation means there is still a question surrounding whether Cincinnati will ultimately clear him for the game. The Bengals will travel to Houston for the Sunday afternoon matchup against the Texans. ET at NRG Stadium.
