Mysuru: Union minister of state for railways V Somanna on Saturday criticised the state govt over its response to the Railway Board’s decision to transfer the Mangaluru railway area from the Palakkad division of Southern Railway to the Mysuru division of South Western Railway from Oct 1. More than 51,000 appointment letters were distributed to newly recruited youth across 45 locations. He also criticised the state cabinet’s first meeting in Mangaluru, describing it as an exercise lacking substance. Somanna accused the Congress govt of making promises without adequate financial backing and alleged that chief minister DK Shivakumar and other leaders were making statements without corresponding action. He also accusing the Congress of pursuing vote-bank politics.
Inaugurating the 20th National Rozgar Mela here on Saturday, Somanna said the nationwide programme reflected the Centre’s focus on creating employment opportunities for young people.
