On September 15, a tragic explosion occurred at an eatery in Sanpada due to a leakage from an LPG cylinder. Two brothers, who operated the establishment, suffered severe burn injuries as a result of the blast. Three days later, one of the brothers unfortunately succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the National Burns Hospital in Airoli.
Navi Mumbai: Three days after the incident of a blast that was triggered by LPG cylinder leakage at an eatery in Sanpada on Sept 15, in which two brothers running the eatery had sustained severe burn injuries, one of the injured brothers succumbed during treatment at National Burns hospital in Airoli. Dr Sunil Keswani, plastic surgeon at National Burns hospital, Airoli, said, “The patient Arjun Yadav (46), who had sustained 92% burn injuries and was on ventilator support in the ICU, succumbed on Friday. who had sustained 42% burn injuries, was discharged against medical advice as requested by his kin, who have taken him to a hospital in Rajasthan for further treatment While the other patient Manish Yadav (26). The explosion was triggered by LPG cylinder leakage at the eatery in the ground-floor commercial unit in Pratik CHS, sector-1, Sanpada, at around 6 am.
Due to the intensity of the explosion, the glass facade of Suraj hospital located about 50 feet away across the street opposite Pratik CHS got shattered, and the explosion even caused damage to the interior walls of the hospital premises. Deepak Surve, senior inspector of Sanpada, said, “After the explosion at the eatery in which the Yadav brothers were severely injured, a fire accident incident was reported. including the eatery, were damaged in the explosion, three other shops in the neighbouring Abhimanyu CHS were also damaged While three shops. Fortunately, the patients and staff at the hospital were not hurt. Subsequently, we will be registering an accidental death case.
As one injured person identified as Arjun Yadav succumbed during treatment at National Burns hospital, Airoli, on Friday, Rabale police conducted an inquest panchnama and have sent the relevant documents to Sanpada police station.
