Modern Scientific Waste Transfer Station to Come Up in Faridpur
Varanasi: In a major step towards cleaner urban management and improved solid waste handling, Varanasi Municipal Corporation is developing a modern, scientific waste transfer station at Faridpur. Once operational, the facility will enable scientific, environment-friendly disposal, segregation and movement of municipal waste generated across the city. The facility is expected to strengthen Varanasi’s sanitation system by preventing open dumping of waste in nearby areas and reducing foul smell and pollution. Under the planned system, waste collected door to door will be brought to the station, compacted, segregated where required and then transported to scientific disposal or processing plants.
