On Sunday morning in Itaunja, Lucknow, a man transporting meat for a biryani stall was reportedly assaulted by three individuals. The attackers accused him of carrying prohibited meat and threatened him with death, according to police reports. Authorities are investigating the incident, which highlights ongoing tensions surrounding food regulations in the area.
On Sunday morning at around 8.30am, he was heading to his stall when the three men allegedly intercepted him. Based on Rizwan’s complaint, an FIR was registered at Itaunja police station under Sections 351(1), 352, 115(2), 117(1) and 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The victim, Rizwan runs a biryani stall near the Badi Masjid in Mahona on Sundays and Thursdays, according to police. Police said the accused Rana Yadav, Shanu and Suraj allegedly stopped him, accused him of carrying prohibited meat, abused and assaulted him and threatened to kill him. Samples have been collected and further legal action is underway, police said.
Police seized the meat and sent a report to the veterinary officer.
