DC Lakshmikanth Reddy said that 3,500 gold cards will be sold this year on a first-come, first-served basis. Priced at Rs 6,500 per person, the gold card offers access to several key Dasara events and tourist attractions during the festival. Because unauthorised persons had taken them, the move follows complaints during last year’s Dasara celebrations, when some gold card holders couldn’t take their allotted seats.
The district administration said gold cards and event tickets are available through the official Mysuru Dasara website, www.mysoredasara.gov.in. The administration said the gold card would benefit tourists who plan to visit multiple attractions, as it eliminates the need to buy separate tickets or wait in long queues. Officials said the new system would ensure seats match the numbers printed on the cards.
Each gold card or event ticket will be valid for one person. The administration has advised visitors to buy gold cards and tickets only through the official online booking portal and to avoid unauthorised sellers.
