Pune: An unidentified man allegedly stole Rs10,000 in cash from a 50-year-old man with a disability after offering to deposit it in a bank in Aundh on Sept 15. The 50-year-old man lodged a complaint with Khadki police on Sunday. Senior inspector Vikramsinh Kadam of Khadki police said, “The complainant is a resident of Khadki who uses a wheelchair. He visited the Aundh branch of a bank to deposit the cash. The complainant entered the bank and tried to deposit the cash, but wasn’t able to. The accused who was present nearby offered to help him. He took the cash and deposit slip from the complainant and stood in the queue. “After a while, he returned to the complainant and handed him the deposit slip. By the time the complainant could check it, the accused had left. The slip, however, showed that the cash was not deposited,” Kadam added. Download the TOI App.
