Kolkata: Former MLA Humayun Kabir , a Mamata Banerjee aide, was left with a bloodied face, and three others were injured after Mamata Trinamool Congress and BJP workers clashed in Mukundapur on Tuesday.
Mamata Trinamool MP Dola Sen said, “We could not enter enter the police station to meet our colleagues, including the injured. It said a worker was filming the Trinamool programme when he was confronted and assaulted. BJP spokesperson Debajit Sarkar said, “A BJP worker was passing by the rally when he was grabbed and beaten. BJP MLA from Jadavpur Sarbari Mukherjee said, “This is purely an internal fight between the Mamata Banerjee faction and the Ritabrata faction of Trinamool.
We repeatedly requested senior officers to intervene, but no action was taken. BJP rejected the allegations, accusing Trinamool workers of an attack. He accused Mamata Trinamool of making false allegations. Both want to take control of the party offices. Most importantly, these party offices are illegal; I have received complaints from several residents regarding this.
Our members did not attack anyone; rather, they were attacked today when these factions were fighting. ”
