Momina, the ‘soft glam expert’ based in Delhi, shared an Instagram video on September 9, revealing her journey of earning Rs 4.5 lakh in one week. She wrote, “Every single booking I have today is the result of not giving up, constantly learning, and giving my 100 percent to every single face I touch.” For one makeup artist from Delhi, the answer was covering five brides, getting numerous bookings, and taking a quick work trip to Kasauli. However, years of free work and unpaid collaborations, with patience as her only resort at the beginning of her career, eventually led to her success. Even though the number feels astonishing, her caption made the greatest impact. She wrote, “People see the numbers, but they don’t see the years of hustle behind it. Consider her jet lag, the outfits needed for various functions, and the numerous photoshoots involved. In her Instagram post, Momina noted that this wasn’t something that had happened overnight. The premium bridal pictures and views from Kasauli had been preceded by multiple years of working for free to build a proper portfolio.
By sharing her weekly diary of bridal work covers, which included creating a portfolio and starting on free projects to finally earn high revenues from bridal reservations, she showed the potential makeup artists hold today.

With three appearances for the bride and three party makeups for her mother and sister, she earned a total of Rs 2.2 lakh. Momina finished off the week with one last reservation for a bride booked at Rs 37,500. This brought her total to Rs 4.5 lakh in just one week.
