Nagpur: BJP corporators in the Nagpur Municipal Corporation may face disciplinary action for remaining absent from a civic event attended by CM Devendra Fadnavis and Union minister Nitin Gadkari , ruling party leader Narendra (Balya) Borkar said.
Borkar said the party leadership had taken note of the absence of some corporators from the inauguration of the 8.9-km Indora-Dighori flyover on Sept 19. Earlier in August, 40 BJP corporators had reportedly remained absent from a civic programme attended by Fadnavis.
Their absence cannot be ignored,” Borkar said. Borkar said details of those absent from the flyover inauguration would be examined before action is initiated. “We will take action against those who remained absent from the programme. This is not the first instance of BJP corporators coming under scrutiny for skipping an event attended by the chief minister. Borkar had sought action against the absentees, with notices issued to them. The latest warning has once again brought the issue of attendance and discipline among ruling-party corporators into focus.
