The FDA suspended the food licence of Gallops restaurant located in RWITC due to hygiene issues.
The violations were recorded under Schedule 4 of food safety regulations.
The restaurant also did not have records of annual medical examinations and vaccinations of its food handlers, officials said. MUMBAI: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has suspended the food licence of Gallops restaurant, located inside the Royal Western India Turf Club at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, with immediate effect over multiple food safety and hygiene violations. During an inspection, FDA officials found ice contaminated with blood and ketchup stains from non-vegetarian food items inside a refrigerator, along with raw materials stored in torn and damaged packaging. Inspectors also recorded grease accumulation in the kitchen, deteriorating walls, inadequately covered drainage and cockroach traps, live cockroaches and ants, and water stagnation. FDA also took action against Gufran Seekh Corner in Versova and Dreamer Hospitality and Mirari in Bandra West over hygiene-related violations. Gufran Seekh Corner was found operating without a valid food licence.
