Virar police have registered a cheating case against three people.
Vasai : A 40-year-old Virar man was allegedly duped of nearly Rs 5 lakh by cyber fraudsters who promised him an escort service through Instagram . After clicking on it, he was asked to pay Rs 1,000 as a registration fee. Despite paying Rs 4.9 lakh, he did not receive the promised service.

The man came across an Instagram advertisement for an escort service in July, according to the complaint. Senior inspector Lalu Ture said Virar police have registered a case against the accused.
