A 21-year-old dancer was discovered dead at his residence in Ghaukheda, Kanpur, on Wednesday morning. The deceased exhibited injury marks on his neck. Family members have claimed that he was murdered due to a longstanding dispute. In response, local police have initiated an investigation and have sent the body for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
The family claimed Krishna was an important witness in the dispute and had repeatedly been threatened against testifying.
It alleged that police failed to act despite receiving a complaint after the earlier incident.
The family alleged that Krishna was stopped, abused and assaulted on Sept 21, after which stones were thrown at their house, injuring Geeta’s leg. Circumstances Surrounding Krishna Kumar’s Death Under Investigation
Krishna Kumar, known as Kallu, was pronounced dead at a local hospital after being found unresponsive in his room. His mother, Geeta Devi, reported that he had been using his mobile phone from approximately 11 PM to 2 AM before going to sleep. At around 5 AM, she heard noises coming from downstairs.
When she entered his room to wake him, she discovered his face covered with a pillow. Despite calling his name, he did not respond. Concerned, she alerted her elder son, Rishabh Kumar, and relatives arrived shortly after upon hearing their cries for help. The investigation into the circumstances of his death is ongoing, with authorities looking into the events leading up to this tragic incident.
