New Delhi: Police have apprehended a youth and two minors who allegedly murdered a 17-year-old boy, stabbing him multiple times in central Delhi’s Anand Parbat, after they brushed past each other in a narrow lane Tuesday.
The murdered boy’s brother said he was stabbed 16 times. 16, Than Singh Road, Tuesday night. Police got a call around 8.30pm. An FIR under Section 103(1) of BNS, which provides for punishment for murder, was registered at Anand Parbat police station Tuesday. Tushar (19), of Anand Parbat, was arrested, while two juveniles, aged 17 and 15, were apprehended from the area within seven hours of the murder. 16 and the boy was coming from the opposite direction.
Police said seven to eight stab wounds have been found on the teenager’s body. “My mother is in denial,” said 18-year-old Mayank Dhingra, the boy’s brother. The three attackers told police that they were walking through Gali No. Police said the altercation escalated and they allegedly stabbed the teenager and fled.
“She keeps asking me, ‘where is my son? I hope he got a good bandage. When will he be discharged? How do I keep telling her he is no more?” he asked. The teenager, a resident of Anand Parbat, was found injured in Gali No. A constable and some people who were nearby rushed him to Jeevan Mala Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. Police also found the knife they had allegedly used on the boy. Investigators have also not found any history of enmity between the boy and the trio. They accidentally collided while passing each other, following which an argument broke out.
The boy’s cousin Hrithik said the family was informed while the teenager was in hospital. “The doctor told us he had been stabbed multiple times. He was just a teenager,” he said. He said he was returning home Tuesday evening, while his mother was in a nearby lane at his aunt’s house.
