Launching Bharat Taxi service and Mukhyamantri Krishak Samriddhi Yojana, under which small and marginal farmers will get long-term loans at a reduced interest rate of 6%, CM said: “The initiative is a means to provide social security and dignity to drivers. Now, upon registration, they will become part of Bharat Taxi on zero commission and will receive social security of Rs 5 lakh.
The poor person’s dignity was disregarded under past govts,” he said. Yogi said Bharat Taxi was already operating in Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Varanasi and Prayagraj. “For the first time after Independence, the country created a separate ministry of cooperation, and its results are now becoming visible,” CM said. With social security, a driver will be able to carry out his work responsibly and without worry,” he said.
Till now, there was no security for them. Bharat Taxi, the country’s first cooperative-led ride-hailing platform, is operated by Sahakar Taxi Cooperative Ltd (STCL).

He said his govt added irrigation facilities to 24 lakh hectares in the state over the past nine-and-a-half years. On sugarcane payments, CM alleged that previous govts left farmers waiting for years for their dues and claimed that 29 sugar mills had been closed, with 21 subsequently sold. He also highlighted free irrigation facilities through canals and tubewells and said 16 lakh farmers with private tubewells had been provided with free electricity connections. Referring to Prayagraj Maha Kumbh 2025, Yogi noted, “Lakhs of young people were safely taking devotees to Sangam on their bikes.

“Leave aside two-wheelers, three-wheelers and four-wheelers, if someone was travelling in a buffalo cart and got down for tea or to relieve himself, by the time he returned, only the wooden cart would remain, the buffalo would be gone,” he said. Contrasting it with the present situation, he said: “Now there is no curfew, and no riot. “Remember, when our govt was formed in 2017, the first work we undertook was for our farmer brothers,” he said. He said his govt also ensured timely availability of fertiliser to farmers despite global conflicts and disruptions. “In contrast, our govt is currently operating 122 sugar mills and more than 100 are paying cane dues within four days,” he said. “Sugarcane payments worth Rs 3,30,000 crore have been made in the last nine years,” he claimed. “If this model is taken forward, new employment opportunities will be created for lakhs of young people,” Yogi said.
Curfews used to continue for months, riots took place and anarchy was at its peak. He also targeted previous govts over their handling of farmers, claiming that small and marginal farmers had been neglected. They also helped transport people from Sangam to the railway station and airport. This did not disrupt traffic and people got convenient access to transportation. He directed transport minister Dayashankar Singh to take forward the rural bus service on the lines of Bharat Taxi. “To ensure that farmers do not face shortage of funds for farming and machinery, arrangements have been made for long-term loans. In the coming years, the target is to provide its benefits to five lakh small and marginal farmers,” CM added. Download the TOI App.
“Uttar Pradesh, which was impoverished, is prosperous today. Uttar Pradesh, where there was anarchy and disturbances, today has an atmosphere of celebration,” he said.
