“Constable Sudhakar , 48, who was driving the vehicle, lost control after the brakes failed, causing the vehicle to overturn on the hill road,” said a police officer from Yercaud station. The mishap took place when a team led by prohibition enforcement wing (PEW) inspector Ananda Nayaki were travelling to Gundur in a tempo traveller, following a tip-off on illegal liquor distillation in nearby forests.
