Krishnagiri : An unidentified person set fire to two makeshift stalls opposite the Pochampalli bus stand in Krishnagiri district on Wednesday night.
Pattu, 53, of Kulambatti was running a flower stall opposite the bus stand, according to police sources. Nearby, Mahesh , 55, of Vadamalampatti operated a snack stall in a palm-leaf hut. “The blaze destroyed around 30 kg of flowers, two pushcarts, two bicycles, weighing scales, and five sacks of snacks,” said an officer at the Pochampally police station. It is alleged that an unidentified person, under the influence of alcohol, set the stalls on fire. On receiving information, the fire and rescue services personnel rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. But by then, the stalls had been completely gutted.
