The mangled car The mangled car The mangled car The mangled car The mangled car The mangled car Navi Mumbai: A 52-year-old manager of a pipe manufacturing company was killed even as three of his colleagues escaped unhurt after an unidentified vehicle rammed into their car on Mumbai-Pune Expressway near Khalapur in the wee hours of Wednesday.
Khalapur police constable Kiran Shelke said Parmar, project managers Neelmani Mukherjee and Shardanand Bhagat, and quality inspector Kartikeya Khalasi, all Gujarat residents, reside in the vicinity of the company. Bhagat was driving the car, said police. The deceased was identified as Bharatbhai Parmar, manager of Mega Pipes Pvt Ltd at Jambhulpada, Hedavali village in Sudhagad taluka, Raigad. The four were returning from Panvel when an unidentified vehicle rammed into their car’s rear end near Mazgaon village around 2am. The impact of the crash was so severe that Parmar, the car owner who was seated on the rear seat’s left side, got crushed in the mangled vehicle.

Shelke said, “The victims were unable to tell which vehicle crashed into their car. From the impact of the crash, it appears like it was a goods vehicle. We have sought CCTV footage of the toll plazas ahead on Mumbai-Pune Expressway to zero in on the suspect vehicle. Download the TOI App.
