Justice Veerappa inspects stalls at Chikodi bus stand
Belagavi: Upa Lokayukta Justice B Veerappa on Thursday began his two-day tour of Belagavi district with surprise inspections of govt offices, healthcare institutions and public service centres in Chikodi, flagging several irregularities and directing officials to take corrective measures.
Justice Veerappa visited the Mother & Child Hospital, taluk hospital, town municipal council and KSRTC bus station, reviewing the delivery of public services and interacting with citizens. The Upa Lokayukta later paid a surprise visit to the municipality office, inspecting attendance registers, files and records related to birth and death certificates, e-Khata services, building permits, waste management and streetlight maintenance. He sought details of staff salaries for the last two years and informed citizens that complaints regarding encroachments and illegal constructions could be directly lodged with the Lokayukta.
